The TP, The Dollar Theatre and The ACL

This is going to seem highly materialistic and lame but I need to vent about my toilet paper preference. See, I have always been a Charmin girl. I grew up with Charmin and my bottom has always been pretty happy with that. Toilet paper is the one thing that I will almost always buy the name brand of. I can’t go cheap on my toilet paper, ever! And when we walked the 5K for The Race For The Cure in 2006, we received coupons from Northern for their brand of tissue. Of course, I used 2 of them and bought some pretty big packages of it. I mean, its a well known brand with cute little animated old ladies on the commercial, right?

Right but it is NOT good toilet paper. Not by my standards, anyway. It doesn’t quite “ride the crack” like my Charmin does. I know that seems a little.. crazy – but it’s true! Charmin is the absolute softest toilet paper in the entire world and I want to buy hundreds of thousands of packages of it in case they ever go out of business. So, what kind of TP do you prefer? And is there anything that you always buy name brand of?

Wait.. I have more to talk about! First, Gene and I went to the dollar theatre to see Stranger Than Fiction tonight. About 3/4 into the movie, the projector flat out dies on us. So we had quite an intermission waiting for them to fix it. Did I mention that it was 50 cent movie night?? Yeahhhh. So anyway, it was a cute movie and had some pretty LOL moments. Probably wont buy it.. but it was good!

Second, I called my doctor finally today to ask about the MRI. I assumed everything was fine since they hadn’t called me about the results.. so that is why I’ve been going to the gym the last few nights. Well, apparently everything is not fine. I have a complete torn ACL and am scheduled to meet with an orthopedic surgeon next week. Not cool. Not cool AT ALL.

The Nacho Libre Watch Party

The free breakfast at El Chico was pretty good. It was a pancake, 2 sausage patties, scrambled eggs w/veggies & salsa, some kind of potato and a little cup of fruit. Can’t complain about a free breakfast! Getting up early sucked though and I’ve struggled this afternoon to stay awake. I’ve pretty much just kept myself busy so that I don’t pass out and waste my Saturday off.

We ate sandwiches for lunch and then I put our new lamp together (It was on clearance for $7.50). It definitely gives off a lot better light than our old lamp did. Now we have 3 lamps in the living room! Silly, I know. I then gave the dogs a bath because they were sooo dirty since our adventure to the dog park last weekend. I just cleaned my desk off and we are about to go take Gene to get his hair cut. Oh, I brushed the dogs teeth and cleaned Astro’s ears! I feel accomplished but at the same time, not so accomplished.

Tonight we are going to have a Nacho Libre Watch Party ;) My DVD finally came in the mail so we are going to eat toast, corn on the cob and salad with fritos while watching the best movie ever. By the way, you’d totally only get that if you’ve seen the movie! It is a great movie and I freakin’ loved it. Layla and Malinda will be accompanying us. Really excited about that :)

P.S. my copy of The Little Mermaid also came with Nacho Libre and I am sooo excited to check out the DVD! And I just pre-ordered the Family Guy Vol. 4 DVD set. Man, I am spoiling myself rotten, it is rediculous! And I don’t know if I mentioned it or not yet but Kitchen Aid has an entire Cook For The Cure pink edition of their products and I really, really want all of them! My mom got me the ice cream scoop and potato peeler for Halloween (yes, I got halloween presents.. because I am a princess!). And the new Nintendo DS Lite is a top priority on my wish list this year for Christmas. It has some great games available (card games, puzzle games, mario, pac man, etc.) and I really, really want one. Gene and I’s gift to ourselves for Christmas this year may be the Nintendo Wii… We’ll see if we can even get one. I can tell the hype is going to be rediculous this year. I think the hot items are the Nintendo Wii, Play Station 3 and Tickle Me Elmo.

Anyway, gotta get dressed and get out of here. Have a great weekend!

Movie Review: Last Kiss

We went to see Last Kiss with KC for her birthday yesterday. I had no idea what it was about so I really didn’t know anything about the movie going into it. I haven’t even seen the movie trailer at this point. So anyway, it was an ok movie. Not something I can imagine myself seeing again? I cried entirely too much during the movie and left with a stuffy nose and a small grey cloud lingering above me. It wasn’t awful, just not a happy movie.

Cars, Appointments and Music!

This is quite a busy week. Where do I even begin?? First I’ll write my movie review and then go on about how absolutely rediculously crazy this week is…

Tonight Gene and I went on what I call the Seven Dollar Date. We had a $6 dinner at Sam’s Club and then went to the 50cent movies, which totals about $7. That is after tax, too! We rawk :D Anyway, so we went and saw Cars. And it was sooo cute. I loved it and I thought it was pretty funny too. I’ve heard such bad reviews and bad things about this movie since it came out from people and online, but I thought it was just adorable! So poo on all of the people who knocked it :)

Now for my busy week:
  • Monday: Astro’s Vet appointment, my chiro appointment
  • Tuesday: Allergy shot, Gene & I had a date night!
  • Wednesday: Chiro appointment, The Lawrence arms
  • Thursday: Chiro appointment
  • Friday: N O T H I N G

It may not seem like much but that sure is a lot of appointments. And juggle that between full days of work and it aint easy! Thank goodness I don’t have children right now. The dogs are enough, lol. Speaking of the dogs, Astro got his yearly vaccinations and check-up on Monday and he now weighs a whopping 118 lbs! The boy is getting humongous! And he is only 1 1/2 years old. Has about 1 1/2 – 2 years to grow to full size. Please just don’t let him get over 150 pounds! Haha.. If he weighs more than Gene I don’t know WHAT I’ll do!

That is all for now.. Gotta get some rest tonight. Tomorrow I have a Chiro appointment at 4:45 PM and then Gene and I are going to see The Lawrence Arms live in Norman.. Which is a good 45 minutes away. And the doors to the club don’t open until 9 PM. So I should be home around…2 AM? Oh my lord.

Movie Review: Click

First I will start off with a movie review of Click. It wasn’t as good as I had expected it to be but it wasn’t exactly awful either. The message the moving was conveying was great and the overall theme was awesome. But like any life changing experience, the way it is drawn out is really, really sad. When I left the theatre, I was actually temporarily in an extremely bad mood. I felt really depressed and didn’t feel like talking to anyone or dealing with anything. I actually felt better after I told Gene about how I felt about it. I hate movies that leave me feeling like that! Maybe I just take them too seriously?? Probably why I can’t watch scary films.

Moving on.. today the gang (Gene, Layla and I) went shopping. Went to a lot of places. Shoe Carnival, Old Navy, Ross, Walmart, the mall (an additional 3 trillion stores). Had a good time. I got 3 Nacho Libre t-shirts from Hot Topic for around $5 each. The total was $16 and some change after tax. Is that awesome or what?? That brings my running total to 4 Nacho Libre t-shirts! And I still need to get around to pre-ordering the DVD online. Amazon shows the release date as October 29th. That is just too far away :(

Tomorrow I get my first allergy shot! I am nervous and excited all at once. I’m nervous because I hope I don’t have an anaphylactic reaction. Which really is the only thing that makes me nervous about it. I’m not crazy about needles but I am not one to freak out over them. I am excited because I am looking a year down the line and see myself feeling a LOT better as far as allergies and asthma go. Two things that have definitely held me back in my life so far.

Anyway, I gotta go! Family Guy is coming on in 15 minutes (Yes, I freakin’ love Family Guy, shutup). It’s the one thing I try to watch every weekday night.
