Jessica tagged me and I will be tagging: Laura, Melissa, Elizabeth, Jessica and Crystal. By the way, I don’t know why it’s assumed that I have 10 friends to tag for this but it is making me feel pressured and slightly depressed. Anyway, let’s get on to the good (or not-so) stuff.

1) I like to eat my sandwiches and hamburgers from the outside and work my way in.

2) I absolutely and positively adore Conan O’Brien.

3) My daughter’s middle name Elise comes from the song “A Letter to Elise” by The Cure. My husband and I love that song and have for years. I’ve actually known that would be my daughter’s (if I had a daughter) first or middle name for years.

4) I love doing yard work. Mowing, weed eating, trimming trees, etc. The smell of fresh cut grass just tickles my nose and has nostalgia written all over it.

5) Family Guy is my all time favorite tv show. That kind of humor is right up my alley. Though the latest season isn’t impressive. They’re taking the “shock value humor” (blood, extreme racial jokes, violence, etc.) a little too far for me.

6) Being a Mommy has been my dream job since I was a little girl and I am finally living that dream! And you’re probably wondering if it’s as great as I ever imagined it? The answer is YES, YES and YES!

7) I love making sun tea. I usually make about a jug a day. I think the only reason I really like to make it is because it reminds me of my Grandma. She always made sun tea. I also love vintage Pyrex. And for the same reason.

8) I talk to my Mom on Aol Instant Messenger more than I do in real life or on the phone. Sometimes it is just easier. I hate talking on the phone! I’d much rather chat via IM or TXT.

9) It took me 2+ hours to finish this. The answers aren’t even that impressive, either. I’m somewhat ashamed of that.

10) My husband is my absolute best friend. I’ve known him for 15-ish years. I’ve been his lady for 11 years on Thursday. We’ve been married for 14+ months. We are inseparable. I actually LOVE being with him and feel lonely when he isn’t with me. I love having him as my best friend.

1. What usually marks the middle of your day? I’d say 1 PM, about an hour after my lunch break.

2. From whom (or to whom) was your most recent middle-of-the-night phone call? No one? I used to get them all of the time when the place I work at was a 24 hour operation and I was always on call.

3. On what social, political, economic, or moral issue are you in the middle of the road? Abortion, I guess. I understand when it necessary if someone’s life is in danger, it is a situation of rape or whatever. But I hate the fact that so many irresponsible people in this world use it as a form of birth control. I really have a hard time and I can’t really decide whether I am pro choice or pro life. I totally believe in Women’s Rights but I also understand that some people abuse their rights ;D

4. How likely are you to give someone your middle finger? Not often. I tend to get steamy and yell in my car if someone cuts me off and I FORGET to flip them off. I’ve jokingly flipped the hubby off before.. But one time he licked my finger when I did it and it grossed me out LOL We’re dorks, shut up.

5. When were you last caught in the middle of a disagreement that really had nothing to do with you? I am in them ALL of the time at work. There are coworkers who don’t really care for each other and I tend to be in the middle of it since I am friends with both of them. Otherwise I’m never really caught in the middle of conflict. I try to stay away from drama. I hate it! Which is probably why I have very few friends, hah. I LOVE my sometimes boring life ;D

A year ago I was starting the count down to our Big Day. I was worrying about where we would get married and how much it would cost. I was excited about a big road trip to Northern Illinois to see family in October. We were still using birth control but I was secretly wishing we could start adding to our family. Just started a new position at my job and was nervous about whether I could handle it or not. We were just one month into homeownership and really enjoying our new home.

Today I am trying desperately to learn the ins and outs of my new Nikon D80. I’m still a newlywed (April) and had the greatest Honeymoon ever (Disney World). I stopped taking birth control and keeping our fingers crossed. Still working in the same position I started a year ago and realize it isn’t near as bad as I thought it would be.

A year from now I hope to have finally mastered my Nikon D80 and hope to be taking some really great photos. I hope that our efforts to expand our family are successful and either have a baby or have one on the way. Hopefully I will still have my job and helping to bring home the bacon. Both my doggies will still be in good health and we will have completed some minor projects around the house (new fence, major cleaning, hanging up photos and stuff like that).

A food item? Something in my purse?? I need clarification! If it is a food item then I always, always try to have canned veggies on hand. If I get low, I stock up. They’re so yummy and so easy and so cheap! If we’re talking about purses, then an item I always make sure I have on hand is a pen. It should be something like a Kleenex due to my allergies but I can’t ever remember to keep those in my purse.

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
The gas or electric bill. They are so flaky! One is always sky high.

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
Fuji Japanese Restaurant? Gene and I ate Sushi. There is something so sweet and awesome about the sharing that goes on when you eat Sushi. We always order a few different rolls :) Plus its a nice, quiet restaurant. Gene and I aren’t all into overly romantic type things… we usually just want to have fun!

3. Last time you puked from drinking?
I guess a year or 2 ago. Drank 2 64oz mixed drinks at a fun place called Hawaiian Don’s. Bad mistake! I think this is the ONLY time I’ve ever thrown up from alcohol.

4. When is the last time you got drunk and danced on a bar?
Never! I usually don’t go to places that have a dance floor!

5. Name of your first grade teacher?
I can’t remember :( I don’t have a good memory.. especially THAT far back. I remember my Kindergarten teacher’s name.. Mrs. Tassin.

6. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Sleeping. I am very, very tired. I yawned throughout our entire outing tonight to Albertsons and Walmart. I really just want to go get under the covers and close my eyes.. Just thinking of it makes me smile. Like a huge relief and feeling of rest.

7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I AM grown up. I have no “real” plans. I didn’t go to college and I don’t have any special talent other than I am pretty efficient with computers. I want to be HAPPY when I grow up :) So far so good!

Uh.. see above -none.

9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It’s a HUGE over sized green t-shirt that I put on when I went to Physical Torture earlier. I needed something comfy so that I could do all of my exercises and stretches with as much ease as possible.

10. GAS PRICES?
Eh, they suck. However, I do not dwell on it. I only have to gas my vehicle maybe once every 2-3 weeks. My car is the bomb when it comes to gas mileage! That and I work about 1.25 miles from my house ;)

11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you?
I have no idea where I’d move to but I do know that I would take Gene with me. The older I get, the more secure I become with “the familiar.” So moving kind of scares me a little, even though I think it may be in our future.

12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
I. Can’t. Move. I was soo tired. I got up at like 5 AM and had Gene close the bedroom window because it had got so cold in our bedroom. We had a quilt and down comforter on the bed and I was shivering to death!

13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
I have no idea because I don’t even remember falling asleep. I remember I was really, really tired.

14. Favorite style of underwear?
G-String all the way baby! Wont wear anything else :) I hate thongs. I’ve tried it and I just can’t get into it.

Boxers or Boxer Briefs. Boxer Briefs have this tight, sexy thing though :D Mmmhm. Boxers are more on the “cute” side.

16. What errand/chore do you despise?
Laundry. It is really SO easy but for some reason it takes a lot out of me to get it done. And the sad thing is that Gene and I only have about 1 load per week between the two of us!

17. If you didn’t have to work, would you volunteer?
Probably. First I’d probably enjoy some time off and get things done around the house and when there was nothing else to do, I’d totally volunteer! Man.. The thought of volunteering right now makes my head spin. Where in the world do you find the time???

18. Get up early or sleep in?
I usually wake up around 9 or 10 on the weekends. Is that considered sleeping in?? I’d LIKE to get up earlier than that but I try to enjoy the sleeping in part as much as possible.

All Family Guy characters! Mostly Peter and Chris.

20. Favorite NON sexual thing to do at night with a girl/guy?
Lay in bed in the complete dark and talk. Ramble on about ANY and EVERY thing. Do this for hours and then realize how late it is and Oh My God I Have To Work Tomorrow and laugh and talk some more :) Wake up the next day actually feeling refreshed instead of paralyzed by the lack of sleep.

Yes.
22. When did you first start feeling old?
This year. It hit me in quite a few ways. Mostly because Gene and I got engaged and I started really having a lot of thoughts of buying a home and having a child this year. Oh, not to mention I had ACL surgery and the doctor mentioned how I am not “that” young and my healing time would be a tad bit longer.

The Breakfast Club, no questions.

Turkey!! I love Turkey. Especially Cajun Turkey.

Jelly Beans. Great Value brand. The gourmet kind. The huge bag. Gene eats them EVERY day. My favorite is Toasted Marshmallow.

Beach. Not as dirty.

Nope. Although I will probably skip out on SOME of the traditional things.

I’m not really ashamed of any of my movie tastes. I do like to watch Disney cartoons but I don’t think that is anything to be ashamed of, like I said.

I’ve been with Gene since I was 16 years old… Guess I got it right on the first try?

Malinda – yes. She is one of my VERY good friends. We have this relationship where we can usually be totally honest with each other and we both care about each other. I can tell her when she is being a bitch and vice versa. The first person I’ve met where I can get mad at them but get over it pretty quickly and hold no grudges. And I am definitely known to hold grudges! Malinda and I are both SO different and SO alike at the same time. It’s crazy!

40. If you could get away with it, who would you kill?
I’d never kill anyone. I’ve watched enough CourtTV to know that Murder is very, very bad. Well um.. I mean.. I knew it was bad before I watched it but.. it just kind of… emphasized it.

John Cusack, Peter Griffin (if he was a real person, not a cartoon character) or Chris Rock.

See, such a superficial question like this totally annoys me. Which is what usually sets me apart from all of the other females on this planet. I get annoyed by this kind of stuff!

No but I did buy this shirt and can’t wait for it to come in the mail.

I am in the middle of Water for Elephants. My aunt, who is a Vet in the northern Chicago area, takes care of this Author’s dogs. So far the book is REALLY great and my Aunt just sent me 2 more of her novels (Riding Lessons and Flying Changes) to read as a get well gift from my surgery.

45. Do you have a teddy bear?
I do but all of my stuffed animals reside in the dogs’ bedroom where the spare bed is. No room for that when you got me, Gene, a Great Dane and a Aussie on the bed!

46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
This is lame but in bed. There was once where I was so tired that Gene brought me a cup and my toothbrush with toothpaste on it so that I could brush my teeth in bed. He’s a good man!

Anywhere north of Orange County ! San Francisco would be awesome !

None. I don’t have any on my plan so they cost me like $0.15 each to send and receive. Maybe a couple per month ?

None at this very moment. I like my job a lot and I love my man so much.

Nope. Gene and I have weird beliefs. We don’t necessarily disbelieve that God ever existed and stuff… We just aren’t into going into a building and worshiping and living our lives a certain way. I don’t feel comfortable getting into this whole debacle because I don’t want to start a debate. I don’t judge people who believe in certain things and I think we are all allowed to believe in what we are and that doesn’t change us as people.

How long did you know each other before you got together? A few years? We met online and had chatted / known each other for several years before we actually decided to start dating. I think we were about 13 or so when we first met and then started dating at 16.

The first physical feature that I really noticed when we first met were his eyes (and no not because they’re asian). They’re big and beautiful. Do you like the way he smells: Don’t even get me started. He smells GLORIOUS. And not due to any cheap (or expensive, for that matter) colognes. He has his own unique smell. something that I just absolutely love whenever we are close. His clothes, side of the bed.. its everywhere. I don’t even know how to describe it? Maybe it’s something that I’ve made up in my head but I can smell him on myself after we hug and stuff and he does NOT wear cologne. His smell makes me SO comfortable.

Can you picture having kids with him: Yessss.. I want one!

What bothers you the most about him: He doesn’t give himself enough credit! He is such a great person and he is almost too humble! When I give him compliments, he usually denies them.

Does he have a temper: If I provoke it… which I’ve been known to do from time to time. Working on it :)

Sing?: YES! We do Karaoke night at our house sometimes and he has an AWESOME voice. His singing is great and I love to listen to him sing. Oh and we have Karaoke Revolution on Game Cube and I love to hear him sing to those songs too.
