Taxi Cab Confessions: Popcorn Addiction

It’s no secret that I love popcorn. I may not write about it on here very often but anyone who really knows me knows that I absolutely love popcorn. I’ll eat just about any kind of popcorn, even the stuff that you can get at the Target food court that turns stale as soon as it pops. Yes, even that stuff. My all time favorite popcorn ever is called Orville Redenbacher’s Light Movie Theatre Butter. It has about 250 calories for an entire full size bag and a handful of fat grams. This pales in comparison to it’s other more fatty counterparts that average out around 500-700 calories per bag! And this stuff? Totally buttery! Unfortunately, there is only ONE local grocery store nearby that sells the stuff so every time we go, I buy two boxes of it. I can’t even find this stuff on the Internets anywhere. Crazy!

So.. while we were browsing through the gift shop at our resort in Disney World I just happened to find this little gem sitting on the top shelf:

Popcorn Tins

The first thing I did was have a silent heart attack / scream fit. Then I realized I had to find Gene, like, NOW. So I found him in the store and told him I had something absolutely fantastically awesome that he had to come see. So I showed him and he looked at it and asked me if I wanted it. I frowned a little and said of course I’d love to have it but it’s about $30 and I don’t really neeeeeeeeeeeeed it….

And so a few days later at the last minute I ran in there and bought it because I couldn’t imagine my life without it.

We’ve been happy together ever since. The best $30 I’ve ever splurged.

Disney World: Winnie the Pooh Edition

I haven’t talked much about our Honeymoon and it’s not because I’m trying to hide anything. The main reason I haven’t said anything is due to the fact that I’ve been really busy. Trying to balance getting things done and resting pretty much leaves zero room for blogging. Which is exactly why I have been posting short lists lately.

We had a wonderful time in Disney World. I decided while I was there that I would like to LIVE THERE FOREVER, please. Gene and I even went to a nearly two hour class on buying interest in Disney real estate (timeshare). Yes, I was that excited about being there. We declined the offer because the fine print made us gag, not to mention the nearly $800 annual membership fee! Instead, we decided we would just go back to Disney World every 4-6 years ;) Wait.. maybe that was just something I decided.. I can’t remember if the husband was in agreement on that or not.. Hmmm…

I had a wonderful time. I got to eat dinner while Pooh & Friends walked through the restaurant and signed autograph books and took pictures. It was amazing and like a dream come true! As much as I still love all things Disney, I really do adore Winnie the Pooh & Friends more than anything else. They will always be my favorite, even as I get older. And you better bet that when Gene and I have our first child, their room is going to be decked out in all things Pooh ;)

While we were at The Magic Kingdom, I even rode the Winnie the Pooh ride and went into the Winnie the Pooh gift shop! The gift shop was a tad bit disappointing. It was pretty small and had pretty much the same stuff as every other gift shop. However, I did snag myself a bottle of honey that was in the shape of Pooh bear holding a honey pot over his head. It is adorable and I’m keeping it forever! Even if the nose is slightly dented in. Oh and it leaked all over my stuff on the flight back. Oops.

I had such a wonderful time while in Disney World. We visited every park except for one of the water parks (Typhoon Lagoon). Epcot was amazing and I could probably spend an entire week just at that park alone, looking through the shops and trying all of the different kinds of food. Best of all, I was able to spend an entire week with just me and the husband, having fun and laughing. It was the greatest experience ever and I will forever remember it.
