June? Already?

My life lately has been like this: Potty Training, Crochet, Kindle, Visiting Family, CRAZY WILD 16 MONTH OLD WHO GETS INTO EVERYTHING OMG, Playing outside, Going to the sprayground, staying up late at night, laundry, LAUNDRY, laundry, Potty Training, Picking up toys, Picking up toys, KIERA STOP CLIMBING ON THE KITCHEN TABLE, Picking up toys, KIERA GET DOWN NOW!, Playing in the sprinkler, KIERA YOU’RE GOING TO FA…. I TOLD YOU NOT TO CLIMB UP THERE!, Picking up toys… and maybe some eating and sleeping and POSSIBLY showering in there somewhere.

We have been soaking up the sun as much as we can. The girls each have 3 bathing suits and they were ALL dirty/wet as of last night. I washed a heap of towels and their bathing suits and we are all ready for a new week of hot temperatures and water play! They’re loving it and I’m loving it. We’re having a blast this year. Last summer was AWFUL. Huge drought and 100+ degrees every single day. We’re hoping this one is a little less brutal. So far so good!

Kiera is repeating a lot of words these days. I can’t believe she is already 16 months old. Where does the time go? She’s my baby girl and she loves to hug her mama when she hurts herself or is sad. She is a force to be reckoned with, that’s for sure. Constantly getting into EVERYTHING she can, always climbing things, always wanting food, always here and there. She is not the kid who will watch TV, ever. She prefers to cause trouble, it’s just HER way.

Zoey is 3 and just a delight. The over-tired meltdown tantrums of SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER are awful. They’re few and far between. She just had one a week ago or so and it was the first time since December. She just gets SO overwhelmed when we’re out of town or have family visiting. She has SOOOOO much fun with all of the kids (cousins) and doesn’t know how to transition to calming down and “down time” – she’d rather just go go GO! She is fun to talk to and says some of the Darnedest Things. She’s my girl and I love her hugs and kisses. Especially when she says “I wub you mommy” MELTERIFIC.

They both play well together, for the most part. We haven’t had any real fights, YET. Kiera is started to exhibit signs of tantrums / independence.. so I think our days, or maybe even hours, are numbered for the Sibling Fights to begin. I really do love this ride we’re on. It’s so fun and I love every day because it always brings new adventures and memories. Like today, for example, I was changing Kiera’s diaper when she reached down, grabbed a hand full of poop out of her diaper and raised her hand in the air and yelled “YEAH!” as if she had just won a challenge on Survivor.

It’s never dull, that’s for sure!
