I’m starting a diet!

By Candy October 6th, 2009

It’s been said a thousand times before. At least here on my blog it has, heh.

I figured what better time to start a diet than right before a holiday where candy and chocolate are the main focus and upcoming holidays where butter, heavy cream and PIE are abundant. Right, Jen? Hee.

So this morning I am starting my diet. I’m drinking some coffee with fat free creamer and sweet ‘n low. I’m going to eat a Jimmy Dean D-Lights breakfast sandwich and I’m going to try to keep my portions down. This evening I’ll go on a short walk (still have to take it easy with my back ‘n all) with Gene and Z.

Baby steps, ya know?

I have to do this for myself. For my husband. And more importantly, for Z.

I’ll weigh in every Tuesday (I always start diets on weird days, what is up with that?) and post my stats on the sidebar.

Do you use any websites to help you keep track? Kyle is using fitday.com (which I recommended) and he finds it very useful.

Good luck, Candace! I am going to begin watching my portions as well as the foods I eat. We can keep each other motivated!

ha yes right before the holidays is great time to start ;)

I too recommend FitDay.com – or if you want to go the Weight Watchers route, I’m a big fan. I’ve done both.

    GOOD LUCK :) :)

I suggest food logs with calorie counts. I have to do under 1200 a day to lose any weight and writing it down really helps. The first couple days of counting calories is really hard, but then it’s a lot easier. Once you learn to ‘budget’ calories, you can pick which meal to splurge on. It’s amazing how many calories are in some foods – one of my favorite burgers ended up being 800 calories! So gross.

    Good luck!
