That little munchkin is keeping me busy these days. When we were at my Grandparent’s house last week, Gene took really good care of Zoey and my cousin Addisyn. I told him to pretend he had twins, hee hee. He did a marvelous job. He gave Addisyn a bath and watched her. He bathed, fed and soothed Zoey almost every single day. The only feedings I really did were the early morning feed when she would wake up around 6 or 7 AM. I can’t praise Gene enough. He is truly a wonderful father and his love for his daughter shows in his actions.
Zoey is napping right now. She is sleeping pretty well these days. Last night she went down at 10 PM and was up at 6:30 this morning. She usually goes down around 11 and is up around 7 or 8 AM. She is definitely getting better at sleeping at night.
As far as milestones go, she isn’t really reaching for toys yet. She is cooing and gooing and gahing a lot more every day. She smiles consistently at us. She has good head control but like most babies, doesn’t really care much for tummy time. I’ve noticed a pattern of her crying uncontrollably whenever she is overly tired. It took a while for me to rock her to sleep for her nap today because she was so tired and the last two evenings she has been a huge grumpy butt, which I think is due to being tired and also the normal evening time fussiness.
I am working hard on trying to clean out our computer room and our living room. A very good friend of mine is giving me her old computer desk (which is awesome because Gene & I’s desks are BOTH broken) and I am taking a lot of my Grandparent’s furniture. It’s kind of old-people lookin, if ya know what I mean.. But at this point I don’t even care. I just want something comfortable! I am taking their couch, a rocker chair, 1 (or 2, not sure yet) recliner, coffee table and end tables. It is going to be so awesome to have somewhere comfortable to sit now! The couch we have is so low and smooshed down that it hurts my back so bad to sit on it. Not to mention, when you get up from it, you have to use a TON of leg muscles because it is so low to the ground. Makes it more difficult to get up while holding a baby. And not good on the knees, at all. I know I seem like such a Complainy Complainerson and Gene is always saying that our furniture is FUNCTIONAL but the thing is, it isn’t function for me at all. It kills my back so bad! And it’s really the only thing I have to sit on in the living room. Anyway, I am hoping to get their furniture the weekend after this coming weekend. We have to drive back to Miami and get a U-Haul and then haul it all back here.
Ok I am really babbling now. I need to get back to my projects. I’m still trying to work on writing up a tribute to Grandpa. It may take a little while for me to do that. It’s rough. Really, really rough.
