I thought I should update everyone on my Chili Saga because I know there are at least three hundred thousand of you that have been waiting and wondering, Did they ever finish off The Chili? Was there any leftover? Did Candace completely lose her shit? Well, on Thursday night we ate Chili with Cornbread and I’ll tell ya right now, we finished off The Chili!!! It was a glorious moment for me and I’m not going to lie, I kind of missed The Chili when Friday evening rolled around. Not to mention, I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do for dinner on Friday. I almost felt a little lost and out of place. I had to get my shit together and successfully pulled through with fried onion & potatoes, mac & cheese and baked polish sausage with bbq sauce. It was y-u-m-i-l-i-c-i-o-u-s yumilicious!
So on to more exciting things… The Wedding… Letsee, how much do we have left? Oh yeah, a LOT. Well, not a LOT but there are quite a few little things we need to do and according to my little Date Timeline Countdown Thinga-ma-jig over there, there is only 18 days left! Ohmygosh. And that means I have to have my house completely cleaned in only 15 days because i’ve got family and friends flying in from all over the Country.
We met with the wedding lady on Saturday and gave her the final payment, as well as a few things she will need to decorate the tables and stuff. Talked about final things like cheesecake, flowers, table arrangements, where we will walk, etc. I’m getting really excited now! Probably sometime next week during the week or next weekend Gene and I are going to go up there and hook up our speakers and whatnot so we can get an idea of where to hook up the sound stuff. We also might take our Karaoke Machine to the reception just for fun. It looks like on the actual wedding day itself while us girls are out getting all girlied-up Gene and his brother are in charge of heading up to the country club to get the speaker systems and stuff hooked up. We’re going cheap-o and not having a DJ so we’re going to make a mixed CD and see how that goes.
On April 10th, I have two very good friends (whom I’ve never met before, as we’ve been friends on The Internets for the last 15 years?) flying in from out of state and then on the 11th I have another friend flying in (same situation). Gene’s parents will be staying with us as well. So it will be a full house but I think all will work out fine. We originally planned to have a Karaoke party at our house on the wedding night but I think we are also considering doing Extreme Bowling now. I need to call the bowling alley and talk to them about it and see what is or isn’t possible.
Gene and I have a Pre-Marital Workshop to attend on April 5th and then we’ll go get our marriage license. I know I’ve mentioned this before but a marriage license in the state of Oklahoma is $50 but if you attend a state sanctioned pre-marital counseling you can get a $45 discount. So essentially we’re hoping to get our marriage license of $5!
These next 3 weeks are going to be SO busy. I don’t even have time to get on the computer anymore at home. Things have been so hectic. The good news is that Gene and I booked our Walt Disney World vacation on Sunday night!!! We’re going from June 19th through June 26th. June 25th is our 10th anniversary of being a couple and I really wanted to be on our Wedding Vacation [read: Honeymoon] during our anniversary. We’ll have been together for a DECADE and I want to mark that in an extra special way. A marriage license is.. well.. it makes everything legal but it sure as hell doesn’t define my relationship with Gene. The last 10 years? Now THAT defines our relationship! So anyway, I am more than excited about this because I’ve NEVER been to WDW and I’ve always wanted to go since I was a kid.
