Happy Thanksgiving
Here I am in the wee morning hours of Thanksgiving morning, taking time out of my day to write you guys a little post. I spoil ya, I really do. I peeled, washed and cut up the potatoes for the mashed potatoes this morning. They’re in a pot of water on the stove on low heat. We’ll probably head over to my mom’s house around 10 or 11 this morning. I always like to get there an hour or two before lunch to kind of help get everything ready.
Gene’s brother is Vegetarian and his sister-in-law is Vegan. So we are making Vegan friendly Mashed Tators and Punkin’ Pie and Apple Pie this year. I think she is also whipping up some Vegan gravy and a bean salad. At Mom’s house, we will have Turkey, Smoked Ham, Sausage Stuffing, Broccoli Rice & Cheese Casserole, Vegetable Medley Casserole, Sweet Potatoes, Rolls and some type of Noodles that my mom always buys & makes. It is going to be a HUGE spread. This year we eliminated the Cornflake Potato Casserole & the Green Bean Casserole. I know, it seems so un-American to eliminate Green Bean Casserole but I am actually pretty sick of it. My most favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner (or lunch & dinner, in our case)? My mom’s Sausage Stuffing & the Rolls! She buys some absolutely delish rolls at the store and I can’t even describe how awesome they are! For Dessert we will have Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie, Apple Pie and Vegan Pumpkin Pie. And loooooots of Cool Whip.
I am always very interested to see what everyone’s spread looks like and what their favorite part of it is, so feel free to comment or post yours on your website! I’ll try to remember to take some pictures this year.

Hey Candace — I have been meaning to stop in and say hello lately, because my Bloglines has decided it doesn’t like to update your blog anymore. GRR!
Hope you’re doing well and have had an awesome holiday.
My family does a Thanksgiving breakfast, so it isn’t anything like a normal Thanksgiving spread. And usually after eating such a big breakfast, we don’t want to even look at food again until maybe like 8 at night. We’re strange.
We cut out the green bean casserole too.
