Bladder Infection
Somehow I have ended up with a bladder infection. I don’t think I’ve ever in my life had one before. I was pretty sick (sweats, chills, extreme nausea) on Sunday night and I figured it would pass by morning. Well, it prove me wrong by returning the next morning. I had a few spells of nausea and sweating profusely, so Gene took me to the doctor that morning. The doctor asked me if I could be pregnant and up until that point, it didn’t even occur to me. So of course, the next 10-15 minutes were spent trying my damnedest to pee in a tiny little cup and then thinking constantly about pregnancy and babies and how, if I was pregnant.. that means my due date would be sometime around my wedding. Hah.. not cool.
When she walked in with the results she started with “I have some good news, I think..” and I’m thinkin’, seriously.. can you not just walk in and say something a little less mysterious in a very tense situation like this. Honestly, I felt so shitty and so ill that I wasn’t even uptight about the situation at all, because I was that out of it. She said I’m not pregnant but that I had a high white blood cell count and decided to call it a bladder infection. Wow. I’ve never had a bladder infection in my life and from what I’ve heard about them, I have always expected some kind of burning sensation in my girly bits when urinating. It was seriously the very last thing I would have ever guessed. Actually, I wouldn’t have ever guessed that. Because I’ve never had one and I figured I was The Chosen One. Apparently, I was wrong all along.
Anyway, so I have been battling that. I took a nausea pill at work today because I started to feel ill and I almost passed out. I think I did actually fall asleep for about a minute or two at my desk and that is when I got up and asked if I could go home. There was only 2 hours left in the day and I didn’t want to sit up there in a complete daze while sitting there on the clock. I just felt it wasn’t right, at all. So anyway, I took quite a long nap when I got home and ever since then I have been feeling okay. I need to take my antibiotic and get ready for bed now.
Things to look forward to in the next couple of months:
- September 18 – the release of Volume 5 of Family Guy. A little disappointed that they are splitting Season 5 up into 2 DVD releases. More money for them, less money for me. But since I love the show SO much, I will be suckered into buying both of them.
- October 4th – I think Gene and I are making a weekend trip to Dallas. There are some bands playing that we like and we may just make a weekend out of it. I really want to go to Ikea, Lush and the Hello Kitty store. I’m a dork but I love to shop! Still need to decide on this for sure and then book the hotel.
- October 21st – Leave to head up to northern Illinois. A fourteen hour drive but a road trip that Gene and I are both looking forward to! We’re going to stay with my aunt and uncle for a week. We plan to go see the Threadless store in Chicago and do other fun stuff we can think of while we are there. Not to mention, spend time with my baby cousins :)
