Sponge baths are for the birds

Sundays are always craptastic days for me. I’m not sure if it’s because of the sense of laziness that it brings or what but I usually feel pretty “blah” on them. This morning I got up at 10 AM and then proceeded to be pretty productive for about an hour and  a half after that. I made 1/2 dozen triple berry muffins, 1/2 dozen chocolate chip muffins and 8 mini loaves of banana bread. Did all of our laundry and we had it folded/hung by noon. I spent the last hour writing up my Thank You cards for everyone that gave me a gift or visited me after my surgery and writing a humongous check to the gas company :/

The rest of the day? I have no idea what’s in store. I do know that I need to take a sponge bath. I thought my appointment to get my stitches out was for tomorrow but apparently it is for Wednesday. Pretty damn disappointing :( I was really looking forward to taking my first bath tomorrow. First bath since BEFORE surgery! TWO freakin’ weeks ago. I am sick of “sponge bathing” myself and trying my best to smother myself in deodorant and body splash to mask the funk that is building somewhere on my body.

That is all for today.. I better go try to be productive again, or at least take a nap. I feel pretty sleepy right now but I have no idea why. I’d like to get some more done around the house but walking around and trying to do things with crutches is about the most annoying, pain in the butt thing a person can do.

  1. Aww, arent you lovely with the thank you cards… you could send me some muffins if youd like… they sound really tasty in comparison to the 2 min “just add water” noodles that I have with me here at college for lunch. :(

as per surgery… i was lucky, I had dissolveable stitches… but the days following my surgery i smelled somewhat like the garbage disposel. This displeased me and many others within a 10 meter radius…. hahaha.

    xo

  2. I remember the “funk” smell well.. having had plaster casts on several times, it’s bad when it starts wafting. Bummer about the few days extra, but just think how good that bath will be once they are finally out!

Today, every blog (or thereabout) that I’ve visited has mentioned food. FOOD. Damnit, I am hungry again, crap.

I dislike Sundays.. because I have to go to work the next day.
