The Nerves :(

Only one hour left until I have to cease all food/liquid intake in preparation for my surgery tomorrow morning and I am having trouble deciding if I even want to eat or drink anything. I know I should drink some water so I don’t flat out die of dehydration but it doesn’t even sound good at this point. I think my nerves have finally hit their highest and I am repulsed by anything food or drink related. Bleh :(

I’m checking in at the hospital at 8:30 AM and surgery is scheduled at 10:30. The surgeon scheduled 2 hours for surgery and 45 minutes for recovery before I am taken to my room. After I leave recovery, I am to be there for 23 hours and then I am sent home. Today the very friendly guy who I still don’t really know delivered the leg-moving machine thing and the ice machine to me.

Anyway, I am charging the portable DVD player that I got for Christmas (first time to use it) and the Nintendo DS. Got my bag mostly packed. Going to get off here and go get my bath. Gene is going to move our computers into our bedroom so we can be totally geeked out while I am bed-ridden.

Movie Review: Reno 911

We went and saw Reno 911: Miami last night. Pretty hilarious! If you don’t like the show Reno 911, I wouldn’t go see it. Hah. But if you do like the show, definitely go see it! Some pretty hilarious and outrageous stuff in there. I can’t even really write a full on review about it because it was just a goofy, hilarious and down right crazy ass movie! Loved it.

And while I’m on the topic of movies, I just want to say that I cannot wait until Aqua Teen Hunger Force comes out at the theatres! And guess what?? It comes out on Friday, April 13th… MY BIRTHDAY! Woohoo. They showed the preview for it at the theatre last night and I got sooo excited. It looks awesome. I may have to actually TRY to catch it on that day. I’m taking April 6th and April 13th off of work this year. Both Gene and I’s birthdays.. Both on Fridays! Yay for long weekends :) And also… I really hope that Futurama The Movie comes out in theatres when it is released! I don’t know if anyone realized it yet but I  Cartoon Network!

FlickrFox for Firefox

You know I absolutely love posting when I find new Firefox extensions, right?? Well, this may not be a new one per say, but it is definitely new to me! I am recently becoming obsessed with Flickr and I wanted a plug-in that would display my Flickr contacts latest photos. Well I found one, and it is awesome! Check it out, FlickrFox.

Just some stuff

I had a missed call and a message on our answering machine from the hospital where my surgery is going to be yesterday. On a Saturday! How weird. So I called back today and basically it was just a little questionnaire type thing and then they scheduled me to come in tomorrow morning to lab work, an EKG and a chest x-ray. Fun times. I also found out that I need to “pre-pay” for Gene’s meals tomorrow when I go in. I wonder how many arms and legs I’m gonna have to fork over for that. Hopefully not more than 2 each, otherwise Gene is gonna starve :D

We’ve been cleaning the house on and off this morning. We are gonna run to Office Depot in a little bit so I can buy a box of page protectors, as I am going to attempt to organize my homemade recipe book. Also need to stop by Walmart and grab some Draino as we are having trouble with our master bedroom sink again. Stupid piece of crap!

Nothing else exciting going on around here. I hung up my memo board that I bought and I hung up my new “flower” picture that I got from Kohls. Will be taking pictures of those later and posting them tonight. We’re having my sister and mother over for dinner tonight (salad and pizza).  I’m excited to have them over because it has been WAY too long!

The Incredibly Insane Dog Post

Tonight’s post is going to focus on my doggies. I love them so much. They are my two children! I have been doing a lot of research into their nutrition and what kind of things are good for them to eat and what supplements I need to get. See, I have a Great Dane and I have been pretty “aware” of his health since we first got him. I’ve done countless hours of research online trying to find the best food and nutrition for him. Great Danes average a 7-8 year lifespan, you could possibly get a few extra years out of them if they come from an excellent blood line and if they are fed and cared for properly.

Due to it being such a short lifespan and due to the illnesses they are prone to (Hip Dysplasia, Bloat, Heart Disease, etc.), there are some special things they need in order to live the healthiest and happiest life they can live! Below I will discuss some of my findings. These things are not just for Great Danes. I have an Australian Shepherd/Heeler mix that is going to be on the same diet. Continue Reading »

Doggy Flatulance becomes a nuisance

I just got home a little while ago from shopping :) I went with the awesome Della! I got some new jeans, a shirt, some shoes, a wooden box to hold tea bags, some cute glasses, flip flops, and some awesome smelling Papaya lotion! Was there anything else?? I don’t know. I don’t think so. I am a shopping addict. I realize this. Do you think I’ll make it on the show Intervention? Maybe at some point.

Doggies are being good tonight. I don’t wanna jinx it but I just had to document it here, lol. They must have worn themselves out when Della came by to pick me up because they are both exhausted. Just laying around the house like a bunch of lazy pooches. Their flatulance has gotten pretty unbearable lately so I may be changing their food soon. We just bought a bag of the Chicken Soup dog food (we’ve been feeding them this for about a year now) but I may be switching over to Eagle Pack sometime soon to see if they do any better on it. They’re both good holistic food choices but I am thinking the Eagle Pack may be a little better as far as their digestive systems go. I know flatulance is expected from a Great Dane but I am concerned about Emma’s, as she has never really had problems before. Silly kids.

Anyway, I guess that is all for tonight. I am gonna get ready for bed soon. I am really going to try my best to get into bed by 11-ish tonight. I can’t seem to make it in bed before 12 these days! It sure would help with my energy level at work. I’ve been having a hard time concentrating and getting things done. Been feeling extremely  unproductive :/ I hate that!

Game night

Tonight is game night at Kaycee’s house. We decided to schedule one this weekend because next weekend I will be 100% busy and then my surgery… and then who knows when we can have our next game night. Our theme tonight is Asian as far as food goes :) I picked up some Vietnamese sandwiches (yumyum) and I am making this Ramen salad (cabbage & green onions with slivered almonds and ramen noodles (cooked in butter) and a dressing made of soy sauce, vinegar, sugar and oil). Della is making some Pad Thai and we are going to be surprised by what Malinda brings, I guess :) I can’t wait to play Apples to Apples with everyone! I love that game and its really fun when there is a large amount of people playing. Fun times :)

Gene is at the store buying the cabbage. We went to Old Navy earlier and I spent entirely TOO much money in there! I got 2 polos, 1 cute long sleeve shirt w/flowers on it (for 97 cents!), a button up blue/white flowery western type shirt, 6 pairs of flip flops and a sleeveless tie-dye tank they had on clearance. Almost everything I got was on clearance and I think I did a good job for what all I got! The temperature is 50° out there but I think its about 40° to 45° with the windchill.  I am really anticipating the warmer weather when I bought the flip flops and tank, lol. Come on warm weather!! Show me what ya got :D
