Christmas Cards and The Wiiiiiii

Haven’t had much of a chance to breathe in the past week or so. Between the Thanksgiving holiday and then a very busy work.. I just havent had time to write! But I’m here… finally!

I never mentioned it but Gene, Layla and I camped out at Walmart for 22 hours for a Nintendo Wii. We were 3rd and 4th in line! I was so ready to sleep around 2 AM when we finally got home. The Wii seems pretty cool and unfortunately, Gene and I haven’t had a whole lot of time to play it. Like I said, things have been crazy. The camp out at Walmart was quite interesting and we of course got to meet some pretty strange and cool people. Forgot to get a form of contact from them, though. Oops.

The Christmas lights look so awesome on our house! I was going to buy something else this year to add to the mix but I just haven’t been able to decide on what I want to add. I may end up adding nothing. Gotta spend my money wisely.. Ive already started my Christmas shopping but I have quite a ways to go still.

Gene and I got the dogs’ photos and I’ve ordered my Christmas cards online. They should be here by next week and I plan on mailing the cards out sometime in the next week or so. Gonna get a head start on it this year… try to beat the rush!

A pain in the.. what???

Eek! My back hurts. Like, bad. I have that dull ache. So I know that my back is going to definitely be sore tomorrow. I just hope that it isn’t too bad. Today I had a really, really awful headache for at least 75% of the work day. The kind of headache where it hurts to open your eyes and you want someone to please throw a brick at your face. I hate sinuses.. they do nothing but cause trouble.

Tonight I made Spaghetti with spaghetti squash instead of regular noodles with green beans and toast. It was ok. Nothing spectacular but it was edible. Gene and I cleaned the garage, re-organized all of our crap and we were barely able to fit his car in the garage. I can’t believe we did it! But what this means is that… we cannot touch a single thing in there or it will never fit again, lol. Too much stuff! The two of us completely fill this 3 bedroom house. Which tells me that we will need a 6 bedroom house if we ever want children.

I’ve been doing pretty well on my diet since Friday or Saturday. I haven’t been eating as much as I have been over the last several months. I feel like my stomache has hopefully shrunk back down a little and I am getting back on track. Just hoping! I weighed myself at Malinda’s house on Thursday and I had gained about 3-4 lbs.. It really sucked and was pretty depressing :( I am going to keep up the work and try to make it back to her house by the end of the week and see if I lose any of that.

That is all for today.. I’ll post my food intake and then get off here.

Breakfast: honey nut cheerios w/skim milk (150 cals)
Snack: apple
Lunch: subway club on wheat w/pepperjack & 1 double chocolate cookie (610 cals?)
Snack: 2 slices of lo-cal wheat bread, 2 slices ff lunch meat, mustard (110 cals)
Dinner: Spaghetti squash w/spaghetti sauce, green beans, 1 slice lo-cal wheat bread (450 cals)
Snack: Strawberries w/splenda

The Search for Nintendo Wii

Feeling sooo much better. I can’t believe my girlie-cramps were that bad on Friday. I don’t really remember ever having them that bad since at least middle school when I was on prescription pain medicine. It’s during those moments that a woman really, really curses womanhood and sees all men as the devil’s children. It’s crazy but true, people!

We shopped way too much at Kohl’s this weekend. I think we made 4 separate trips to the store. Crazy, I know. We got a 30% off coupon in the mail.. you cannot beat that. We almost always get 15% off and toss it and if we’re lucky, we get the 20% off. I dont’ think I’ve ever got the 30% one. I got a new purse. Red leather. Verrrry adorable. And an adorable scarf to tie around it, to bring it up a notch ;)

While I was in Kohl’s I ran into an old friend from middle school. I was soo excited and I got her number. I’ll probably call her sometime this week to see about getting together. I’d like to chat it up and meet her little boy. And speaking of that, I think I am the only person left in my age group that is not married or at least having kids right now! This does not disappoint me in anyway, just making an observation. Everyone I knew from middle school or high school seems like they are already married or at least have 1 or more children. Growing up… ahhhhh…

P.S. at Kohls I got a lot of “stuff”. The purse, Family Guy pj pants, Family Guy boxers, Simpson’s Boxers, Beavis & Butthead Boxers, Pink Panther socks, Tinkerbell socks, 2 bath towels, Scooby Doo t-shirt.. I may have forgot other stuff but I am getting pretty tired now.

Anyway, gonna go get the dogs in bed and get all ready for bed. Family Guy at 10:30 and then sleeeep :) Got an insanely busy 2 weeks ahead of us and am not even sure where to start…

» Nov 16 – Brandtson is playing in Tulsa, so we will drive to Tulsa after work and see them play. This calls for a looong night, as Tulsa is 1 1/2 hour drive from home!
» Nov 18 – Nintendo Wii comes out the next day.. We will be starting our “Walmart Camping Trip” around noon on the 18th to prepare.
» Nov 19 – Even though we will hopefully have a Wii in our possession, I will have to pull together all adrenaline and energy to try and clean the house and get all of the Christmas deco up.
» Nov 22-26 – Gene’s brother and sister in law will be in town. We think they are staying with us, so we will be busy, busy, busy during these days. Also plan on going Black Friday shopping with them.

The Legend of The Killer Dog Farts

Gene got the Christmas lights up on the house yesterday. We started around 2:30-3 and got done by 7ish. They look absolutely FANTASTIC! I can’t even thank him enough for getting up there on the roof and doing this for me. I just kept thinking the whole time about how thankful I was to have a boy that can do this for me. I always wanted Christmas lights growing up and my dad would never, ever do it! And I just feel like I am such a lucky person to have him in my life. I am definitely spoiled by him, no question :)

Not doing much tonight. Gene and Layla are at Japanese Movie Night at UCO. I was supposed to go but wimped out. Having horrific girlie-cramps and didn’t want to be a “downer” at the movie night. I don’t think I could have even budged a smile. I’m doing better right now than I previously was doing but still not good enough to be peppy or enjoy myself.

Astro keeps unloading these absolutely horrible dog-farts. I guess I need to put yogurt back on my grocery list. I’ve forgotten to get it the last few times and realize that he needs the yogurt back in his diet to help with this gas! Sometimes it can be very, very bad. The funniest thing though.. I was having him “sit” for a treat and as his butt was going towards the ground he was farting. Hilarious!! I about died laughing. He definitely is a silly boy, a silly humongous boy! He was 118 pounds at his last appointment a few months back and I think he has to at least be 130 by now. What in the world have I got us into???

Tomorrow night we are supposed to hang out at Malindas. Have some beers and watch a movie. Sounds like a good relaxing time. Needing that badly! Then sometime this weekend going to go over to my parent’s house and talk about the wedding. I’ve decided on a place and now need to talk about the dreaded financial part of it and then sometime go up there and secure a date (assuming they have any left for Fall 2007). I still can’t believe I’m getting married in less than a year!!

Anyone know of a dog-petting service?

I am in a pretty “blah” type mood. I can’t really explain it. Nothing in particular has sparked it. I came home from work and took all of the trash out. Got all of our nasty, moldy pumpkins out in the garbage and put the can by the curb. I did up the dishes and I had all of this done by about 5:30 and I got home around 5:10. Yes, I am the bomb.. you don’t have to tell me twice ;)

Gene and I went to my parent’s house for dinner. Had spaghetti and hung out with Layla for a little while. Came home and I vaccumed the living room/hallway and straightened up the seat covers on the sofa. Put a new light bulb in the bathroom (one of them burned out) and now I am resting. I actually broke quite a sweat doing these simple things. It’s 68° out right now. Tomorrow the high is 82° so Gene and I are both taking off work early and going to come home to put up the Christmas lights on the house. Yes, I know it is early but I figured we should get them up on the roof before it gets too cold outside. Last year he was up there in 50 degree weather, freezing his butt off! Don’t worry, I wont actually turn them on until it gets closer to Christmas ;)

Astro and Emma are being wild ‘n crazy kids. I just had to yell at them to calm down. Astro is now laying on the floor, breathing like he is about to die. He isn’t an overly active dog and I think if we didn’t have Emma, he would be a total couch potato. Emma on the other hand, is one wild lady. Always playing, growling, trying to get him all riled up. They are both such sweet dogs though. Emma always, always wants to be petted and I try my best to fulfill her needs. Sometimes it seems impossible! Is there any kind of dog-petting service out there?? Anyone wanna come pet my dogs for 3-6 hours a day?? I can’t afford much but I can give you a heated/air conditioned home to do it in.

That is about it. I know, boring. Go read the blogs on my blogroll.. I promise they are 100 times more interesting!

The Nacho Libre Diet

The Nacho Libre Watch Party was awesome! We had salad with fritos, corn on the cob and toast. Malinda and I decided that we should start the Nacho Libre diet. I love corn! Unfortunately, corn provides almost no nutritional value whatsoever but it does happen to be light in calories. I take what I can get.

Not much else going on as of lately. I came home a little early because I felt like my sinuses were going to explode. Most of this afternoon at work was pretty miserable due to that. I felt like I could barely keep my eyes open without dying of horrible pain. Smiling? Out of the question! I came home and took a sudafed and amazingly, not even 30 minutes later and I am feeling a lot better.

Got some potatoes boiling. They were going to get old so I am going to make homemade mashed potatoes. Dishes are done and trash was taken out. Tonight Gene and I are just going to hang out. Probably take the dogs on a walk but then just chill around the house. We were out almost all weekend and I feel bad that the dogs had to spend most of the weekend in their crates.

I wish I had more to say but I don’t at this point. So… keep on keepin’ on :)

The Nacho Libre Watch Party

The free breakfast at El Chico was pretty good. It was a pancake, 2 sausage patties, scrambled eggs w/veggies & salsa, some kind of potato and a little cup of fruit. Can’t complain about a free breakfast! Getting up early sucked though and I’ve struggled this afternoon to stay awake. I’ve pretty much just kept myself busy so that I don’t pass out and waste my Saturday off.

We ate sandwiches for lunch and then I put our new lamp together (It was on clearance for $7.50). It definitely gives off a lot better light than our old lamp did. Now we have 3 lamps in the living room! Silly, I know. I then gave the dogs a bath because they were sooo dirty since our adventure to the dog park last weekend. I just cleaned my desk off and we are about to go take Gene to get his hair cut. Oh, I brushed the dogs teeth and cleaned Astro’s ears! I feel accomplished but at the same time, not so accomplished.

Tonight we are going to have a Nacho Libre Watch Party ;) My DVD finally came in the mail so we are going to eat toast, corn on the cob and salad with fritos while watching the best movie ever. By the way, you’d totally only get that if you’ve seen the movie! It is a great movie and I freakin’ loved it. Layla and Malinda will be accompanying us. Really excited about that :)

P.S. my copy of The Little Mermaid also came with Nacho Libre and I am sooo excited to check out the DVD! And I just pre-ordered the Family Guy Vol. 4 DVD set. Man, I am spoiling myself rotten, it is rediculous! And I don’t know if I mentioned it or not yet but Kitchen Aid has an entire Cook For The Cure pink edition of their products and I really, really want all of them! My mom got me the ice cream scoop and potato peeler for Halloween (yes, I got halloween presents.. because I am a princess!). And the new Nintendo DS Lite is a top priority on my wish list this year for Christmas. It has some great games available (card games, puzzle games, mario, pac man, etc.) and I really, really want one. Gene and I’s gift to ourselves for Christmas this year may be the Nintendo Wii… We’ll see if we can even get one. I can tell the hype is going to be rediculous this year. I think the hot items are the Nintendo Wii, Play Station 3 and Tickle Me Elmo.

Anyway, gotta get dressed and get out of here. Have a great weekend!
