Trick or treating was fun. Saw some cute kids! Gene and I ended up decorating with spider webs, a black light, candles and scary music. Gene also came up with the idea to put something red over the window in the bathroom (it looks straight onto the patio) so the window would be all reddish looking.. so we ended up hanging red t-shirts over the light fixtures in there and it looked really cool! We did all of our decorations last-minute for under $10. Not bad at all! We have the PERFECT halloween porch! I’ll post pictures to my flickr as soon as I get a chance.

Anyway, I am going to start getting ready for bed. Need to get a shower and get into my comfy, warm sweats. I’m fr-rreezing right now! It is 49° outside and it feels like -30. Also gotta calm the dogs down. After having all of the trick or treaters they sure are worked up.

So I made a new banner for my website. I wanted to go with something fallish and halloweenish that way it can last me until I make a Christmas one. I feel so domestic, making holiday-themed banners for my website. Almost makes me sick! LOL. Anyway, I gotta go drink some more hot tea and check on my potroast. Peace out!

I love wintery days like today. The high is somewhere around 70 and currently it is 64°. The clouds are covering the sky and it is a great day to snuggle up and lay around the house relaxing. I’ve got a pot roast in the crockpot (first time I’ve ever attempted this, wish me luck) and Gene and I are going to run to the mall so I can use my $15 off $15 gift cheque from Lane Bryant (fat girl clothes!). I’m really hoping for a pair of jeans as I only have one pair that really fits me.

Gene and I are going to have a good lunch at Schlotzskys before the mall and then we plan to come home and just spend the day here. I did all of my laundry yesterday so I wont have to do any of that today, which is good. Just spend time with my bratty doggies and keeping an eye on the roast. I’m really worried it isn’t going to turn out right or it is going to cook a lot slower than I think and we wont be having dinner until 10 PM, lol.

As far as the sinus infection goes, it is still lingering. I ran out of antibiotics yesterday but Gene’s parent’s always give us a hefty supply of Amoxycillin (they’re from Cambodia, where prescription isn’t needed) so I may start taking some of those. My sore throat comes and goes every day and my left ear has finally stopped hurting. I’m guessing it is all from the drainage. Thanks to Feona for the suggestion of drinking peppermint tea! I totally forgot I had some Refresh Tazo tea in there, which has spearmint and peppermint in it and it always feels so good on my throat when I’m sick like this! Sometimes all it takes is a little reminder :) And thanks to the rest of you for the well wishes and stuff!! I really need it. I hate being sick like this.

I am really tired and not feeling well right now so this is going to be an uber-short post. Just wanted to let you guys know that I am still alive and kicking. Yesterday I woke up so congested and with tons of sinus pressure that I left work in the morning to go to the doctor’s office. I have a sinus infection and was loaded up with prescriptions. I slept with the Vicks vaporizer last night and I think it helped a little bit but I feel really yucky and just generally feel like going back to bed, not to work. Lets just hope today is a better day than yesterday!

Astro is doing great. Getting taller than ever. He can now walk up to me sitting in my computer chair and put his head on my chest. Such a dollbaby :) He really is the sweetest dog in the world. The one thing I could do without is all of the whining! He is the whiniest dog I’ve ever seen in my entire life. This morning I got a call from work around 6:20 AM and he was whining non-stop after that. I had to go in there and tell him he better shut up or I was going to come in there (his crate, because it’s big enough for me to duck down a little and walk into) and kick his butt, lol. He did finally shut up, thank goodness!

Anyway, off to finish getting ready for work. And feed this whiney ass dog.

Astro went to the vet this morning. He weighed in at 62 LBS at 5 months old and got his rabies vaccination. He wont have to see the vet for another 7 months when he gets neutured. Well, he is going to be boarded for a weekend in December but other than that, he is vet-free! Or at least he better be. Gotta keep him out of trouble ;)

I was sort-of hungry and craving something sweet, so I made Gene and I special chocolate milk. What is Special Chocolate Milk you ask? It is simple. I just blended (yes, used a blender.. actually I used the Magic Bullet because I am in complete love with it.. but, ya know) milk, nesquick powder double chocolate (I find that using the blender w/the powder stuff helps it mix up better and leaves fewer chunks) and caramel ice cream topping. Yum yum! And I added a dollop of french vanilla cool whip on top with a little caramel drizzle. And it sure did hit the spot!

Speaking of “making stuff” and cooking and all of that, I am getting brave and going to try making pot roast. I picked up a packet of Onion soup mix and there was a recipe on the back for this pot roast that sounds absolutely amazing! So I got me some carrots and potatoes and a roast and I’m going to probably cook that up on Saturday or Sunday. Wish me luck with that! I really want to get back into cooking. Gene and I are now on a grocery budget and I think we are going to eat better as a result of it. No more eating out so much!

So at 6 PM I gotta start the spaghetti. Tonight is our potluck at work and the theme is Italian, so I’m bringing Spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs! Gonna be meaty and hearty and filling on this cool evening. Yes, the weather has finally cooled down! It is 60° outside right now and that has been about the high for today. I love this weather. Leaving the windows open, my nose and my toes are freezing cold but I feel so.. comfortable.

I thought this layout was hot stuff when I first started working on it. And when I got it uploaded my outlook on it sort of diminished.. but now it has completely diminished and I think the whole thing is hideous looking :( I need to put different smileys on and I need to get this stuff figured out. It’s uuuuugly! I’m going to try my best on these days off to work on it and get it situated. Wish me luck! :D You know I’ll need it.

I have some great news that probably isnt’ so great to my readers but is actually really great to me and that is: MY DRYER GOT FIXED! I’d like to hear some rejoicing right now. That poor thing has been poked and prodded at so many times it must some issues now. But anyway, it ended up not the dryer that was broke, but the actual fuse in the breaker box that was wrong. So we have a hot, hot dryer now and everyone is happy. That means a LOT of laundry will be had this week. And the electric bill will be insane and probably make up for the fact that I haven’t had the A/C on in over 2 weeks :|

I walked the 3 miles for The Race for the Cure. I did a good job and I am extremely proud of myself. I seriously thought I would either have to take a shortcut or that I would fall over dead during the walk but somehow I survived and I wasn’t too out of breath ;) And the best part is that I didn’t even have to take my inhaler one single time.. and that is just an accomplishment in itself!

Dad came over and helped with a couple of things around the house. He’s my man :) I gotta borrow the clippers next weekend so I can cut down some weeds and trim some bushes. A lot of them have thorns on them and I am scared to death to touch them. Though I have to admit, this is the perfect time of year to work out in the yard because it is so nice outside.

So anyway, it is 8 PM and I still have laundry to do and some picking up to do around here. You all have a great night :)
