I don’t know why but it really bothers me that the media is referring to all of these people in Louisianna and Mississippi as “refugees.” I don’t know what it is but I get this really strange image of people from Africa crossing the ocean in a canoe? It doesn’t make sense when I explain it but it does in my head. The point is that these are citizens and they deserve a lot more respect than they are getting. And why in the world do they only broadcast the extremely angry or violently frustrated people? Why not throw in an interview with a calm, collected person? All I see left and right are people screaming at the news crews and complaining. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with the complaining and frustration, I totally understand. But when that is all they show 24/7 on the news, it gives their community a bad “reputation” so to speak.
But really I’m not going to get into this crap. All I can say is that I am wishing these people the best and I hope they hurry the heck up with their “rescue efforts” and the supposed “10.5 million” we are giving them for recovery, so these people can RELAX and SURVIVE. And I can totally empathize with the people who are “looting” things they need (diapers, food, etc.) but the people who have gone absolutely psycho and are raping women or shooting people, that is just rediculous! And anyone that does that, obviously has NO heart. And I think it is very sad and discouraging to the citizens of these places that their police officers are turning in their badges and leaving the “force.” No offense to the police officers but if I was an officer and saw devastation like that and then basically abandoned the city and turned in my badge…. well… I don’t even know what to say other than I’d hope one of my friends and family would smack me out of whatever the heck was going through my head!
Anyway, Astro and Emma are doing great. Astro is still having accidents but I hope it is just because he is going through a phase. I know all puppies go through a phase around 12-16 weeks old where they have more accidents than they previously did and so on. I hope it’s just that! He has them mostly by the back door. But like I said in a previous post, thank goodness for my new carpet cleaner. I don’t freak out near as much now that I have that handy stuff! He’s getting big :) Not big around but definitely a lot taller than he used to be. That is all for now. We have 13 week pictures of him but I am absolutely too lazy to uplaod them. Billing this last week at work has been extremely busy and I feel run down every day when I get home. I may just wait until his 4 month pictures to update! Then we’ll be able to see a big difference in size!
